Manipura Chakra – Solar Plexus Chakra

Manipura Chakra or the solar plexus chakra is the third of our seven chakras.

This chakra acts as our body’s energy power-house. Manipura chakra is the core of your personality and identity. When balanced, this chakra allows your authentic self to shine brightly.

Manipura:-Mani means "jewel" and Pura means "place or city". So Manipura translates from Sanskrit as “Shining Gem or City of Jewels.”

Today I will share some basic information about Manipura chakra in this blog as follows:-

~Location of the Manipura Chakra is between the navel and the bottom of the rib cage. As the seat of digestive fire, this Chakra regulates the function of the Pancreas and digestive organs. This chakra is connected to organs like the spleen and liver, where a person’s inner energy originates.

The seed mantra or beej mantra of Manipura chakra is the syllable ‘Ram ( рд░ं )’. Within the bindu, or dot, above this mantra is permanent home of God Rudra. Rudra makes the gestures of granting boons and to remove fear and is seated either on a tiger skin or a bull.

~ The color associated with the third of the seven chakras, the Manipura Chakra, is 'Yellow'. This color symbolises energy, your intellect, and also the connection a person has with the Fire and Sun. This chakra is also called the “Yellow chakra” because it is often associated with the sun/solar, which is believed to be the core of solar bodies.

~ The associated tattva or element of Manipura Chakra is Fire. It is characterised by emotions like ego, anger, and aggression. It is also known as representing the energy of the sun. The fire energy of this Chakra is very important in digestion and in promoting efficient absorption of nutrients.

In my next blog we will continue with more information about Manipura Chakra where I will share what we need to do to balance or energise this chakra. Also we will also look at what happens when it is balanced and what happens if it is goes into imbalanced state.

See you in the next blog. Keep reading.

Happy reading…
