The importance of Stotra/prayers:-

‘Stotra’ means praise to the god/goddess, reciting prayers. By reciting the prayers, a protective shield is formed around the person reciting the prayers and protects him from the negative/evil forces, this is also called as "Aura." When a stotra/prayer is recited in a certain rhythm or in a pattern, at that time a special positive power is created from that stotra. For this, it is necessary to recite the stotra in a specific rhythm or in a specific pattern.

Our saints have done great favours to us by composing stotras, mantras and prayers. Stotras/prayers are the specific sound waves that have been developed by using specific letters, taking into account that how it can be used for the physical and mental benefit of human beings and for the purification of the heart. The characteristic of stotras/prayers recitation is that with the help of the letters of the stotras, various chakras in the human body are awakened. Normally a person uses 10% of his total power, 90% is mostly dormant. That power can be awakened by chanting stotra. But for that,  stotra should be recited in one place and with proper pronunciation.

As we all know that all languages originated from Sanskrit. This Sanskrit language is also considered as 'Girvanbhasha' which is considered as the language of the gods. Stotras have a special place in Sanskrit literature. Even today we see that some stotras like Ramraksha Stotra', 'Venkatesh Stotra', 'Shri Ganapati Atharvashirsha' etc. being recited by many.

What is needed for peace, contentment, prosperity, upliftment is mental satisfaction. To get good health and mental satisfaction one should recite stotras regularly.

Keep reading, will discuss about some specific stotras in brief in my upcoming blogs.
