Aarti:- Durge durghat bhari…

"Durge Durghat Bhari’ is a Marathi Devotional (Song) aarti sung in praise of Mother Durga. Devotees sing this aarti during the festival of Navratri.Today I will share Mother Durga’s Aarti with its meaning. The word ‘Durga’ means the one who eliminates all sufferings. Goddess Durga is regarded as the Mother of the universe. Mother Durga's image symbolises power and divinity to her devotees.


Durge durghat bhari tujvin sansari, anatha nathe Ambe karuna vistari ||
meaning:- O Dear Mother Durga, Everything is very difficult in this world without your eternal grace. Mother Ambe, the guardian of these orphans, is called Amba in Sanskrit.

Vari vari janma maranate vari, hari padalo ata sankat nivari ||
meaning:- Have mercy on us and free us from this vicious cycle of repeated births and deaths because we are now feel defeated by all our problems.

Jai Devi Jai Devi Mahishasura mardiini, sura vara ishwara varade taraka sanjivani,
Jai Devi Jai Devi || 1||
meaning:- “Mahishasurmardini” means the goddess who killed demon Mahishasura.
“Sura vara ishwara varde” is the one who blesses the gods who has killed the demons and revived them in one way or another.


Tribhuvana bhuvani pahata tuja aisi nahi, chari shramalo parantu na bolve kahi ||
meaning:- “Tribhuvan” means earth, space and heaven, there is no one like you among all these three worlds. These four Vedas could not describe goddess Durga properly even after trying very hard.

Sahi vivad karita padalo pravahi, te tu bhakta lagi pavasi lavalahi ||
Jai Devi Jai Devi… ||2||
meaning:- The followers of the six philosophies, Veda, Vedanta, Sankhya, Yog, Nyaaya and Mimansa, debated, but they were carried away by your devotion. “Lavalahi” means without a moment's delay, you reach your devotees, who pray to your Aadimaata form, you shower your divine grace instantly.


Prasanna vadane Prasanna hosi Nijadasa, Klesha pasuni sodavi todi Bhavapasha ||
meaning:- “Nijdasa” means your slave. Mother Durga, with constant bliss on your face, you shower your happiness on your devotees. And then you save us from our painful tribulations. “Bhavpasha” means Mother Durga liberate us from the sufferings of this world.

Ambe tuj vachun kon purvila asha, Narahari tallina jhala pada pankaja lesha ||
Jai Devi Jai Devi… ||3||
meaning:- O mother Ambe, without you who can fulfill our desires & aspirations. Narahari, who wrote this Aarti, your feet are completely immersed in the sacred dust of the lotus.

There are several benefits of chanting Durga aarti. Durga Aarti is the best way to invite peace in your life. This auspicious celebration is marked by bringing an end to negative power. Durga Aarti is sung to seek the blessings of Mother Durga. When one chants Durga Aarti he/she gets power as Aarti removes all kinds of fear which are hidden deep in the heart. When a person worships Goddess Durga who shower her blessings on devotees, it creates a positive aura and a person is able to leave all his problems behind.
